GT has engaged in Risk Management studies and services for the past 5 years and over that period we have explored a large number of issues & concerns that have affected the transport industry and its operators from both insurance and business perspectives.
Today, GT continues with our research and gathers data on its current and potential clients to compare findings with the Transport Industry overall.
Our focus on Risk Management has been specific to the following types of road risks:
Heavy road freight
Light commercial
Public Transport
Civil contractors
Sedan fleets
Bus operators
GT specializes in looking at individual risk issues and their impact, considering all exposures associated with freight tasks including the skill sets required of drivers, the makeup of vehicle types and the individual management approach of Transport Operators.
By the application of risk management techniques, we are able to assess considered topical “risks” whether they be negative or positive in the Operator’s business, and provide an outline to both the Intermediary and the insured what remedies may be recommended to address any exposures.
These include :-
Driver Inductions and training.
Driver management
Fatigue & Speed management
Vehicle maintenance
Accident and Claims Management
Business Management
The benefit to both Intermediary and Insured utilizing our risk management capabilities, is the provision of constructive critique providing feedback on areas of the Insured’s operation that we perceive as risk exposures, countered by recommended remedies that may be applied to assist Operators’ businesses and alleviate their concerns.
In future articles, Risk Management will highlight some of the Industry’s specific concerns which will keep you informed with what is happening in the commercial motor industry.
