We Remember the Queensland Floods

With 35 lives lost, many injured and around 200,000 Queenslanders impacted by the devastating floods of January 2011, few will ever forget the scenes and aftermath of this tragic event. For us, despite the sheer volume of claims, we understood the vital importance of expediting our claims processing so that those affected could commence rebuilding their lives as soon as possible.

A year on, as we remember all those whose lives were touched by the floods, we want to also thank and acknowledge the work of our Global Transport team and our brokers who did everything they could to help get Queenslanders back to business, so as to ease their financial burden.

Our policies withstood an almighty test, and proved able to respond effectively to the challenge. Our team worked tirelessly to process an incredible amount of claims worth in excess of $8million to help Queenslanders get back on the road as soon as possible. This hard work didn’t go unnoticed.

Below is just one of the many acknowledgments we received following the floods:

GTAIS surpassed our expectations in service delivery and speedy claims settlement when required. What we were most appreciative of was the stance that GTAIS took with excesses, which were reduced to the minimum amount allowable under the policy.

The understanding by GTAIS of our clients’ financial position in such an instance was gratefully received and understood by all parties. I wish to take this opportunity to thank all of the GTAIS staff involved in making this significant event in our history a positive experience for both ourselves and our clients.
