The company was formerly Global Motor Underwriting Agency, which was incorporated in 1996. In May 2006, Allianz Australia Insurance Limited (Allianz) acquired more than 50% equity in the company, which was re-named Global Transport and Automotive Insurance Solutions Pty Ltd.
